A new rapid transit system, for the up and coming city of Riyadh. Stretching from east to west across the city, the orange line was the longest of the metro network with 20 stations, including two interchange plus two maintenance depots. The Orange line was one of the first lines to be built. We worked closely with the Architects and engineers to create wayfinding, emergency evacuation and statutory systems that could integrate seamlessly into the architecture.

Due to the enormity of the project the timescales were tight. All stations and depots would be completed within three months ready for development and implementation. Whilst the majority of stations were fairly straightforward, the depots and interchange stations required more thought and resources. Interchange sites included car parks, shopping malls, mosques and public areas. Depots accomodated offices, road networks and train servicing requiring serious attention to safety.

We provided passenger wayfinding, emergency evacuation and statutory signing across all stations, depots and car parks. All signs were compliant with British and American standards.
